AYANA WYSE: Founder of Black Creatives Japan and Co-host of the Kurly in Kansai Podcast

Originally from New York, Ayana Wyse is now based in Osaka, Japan, where she’s heavily involved in creative community building activities. She co-hosts the podcast Kurly in Kansai, a series focused on the experiences of Black women living in Japan (it’s full of stories and tips on everything from everyday life to jobs to language). In 2015, Ayana founded Black Creatives Japan, and she now organizes online and offline events to support Black creatives inside and outside of Japan. In addition to these projects, Ayana does photography, DJs at her events, and even does narration and modeling from time to time! In this talk, Ayana shared about what brought her to Osaka and what motivated her to start building communities. She also shared her thoughts about how to take steps to better educate people worldwide about different races and cultures.

||Smile|| Another smile pic! I chose this one in my set cuz I liked how my smile and dimples looked. Also enjoying my journey with makeup more and more. The other day a few people thought I wasn't wearing (had clear lippy on as well) and I was like yessss subtle looks are my fave. But I also wanna try outside of that too. Shout out to @milosh_gg for being my tripod today at @brooklynroastingjapan in Kitahama. It still counts as self portrait since I used my remote and he just held the camera lol. #dailyphoto #selfportraitphotography #selfportrait #foliage #twists #blackgirlmagic #photographersofinstagram #photographers #selfie #instaselfie #instagood #instagram #melaninpoppin #fentybeauty #blackinjapan #黒人 #外国人
